OUR HISTORY

The name of the hotel comes from the grandmother of the owners, the first generation of the family who in 1948 opened the “Ausonia Restaurant”. This is how the history of this famous hotel was born, by her, Ausonia Lupi Pierini. After a short time, in the building of the property, she convinced her husband Egidio to make some rooms and, with some umbrellas and some chairs in the garden, this energetic woman began the adventure of hospitality.

They were the beginnings of what we now call Tourism.

Follonica was a reality linked to trade and agriculture, while a small train carried the mineral that arrived by ship from the Island of Elba to the Ilva furnaces.

A great leap, a way of reinventing oneself, the desire for something new have brought to the third generation who continues the business with the same passion making a name a guarantee.
